Award-winning artist and medical illustrator based in Washington, D.C.
Originally from Colorado, Ashley Mastin relocated to New York to pursue her BFA in Medical Illustration at Rochester Institute of Technology. There she developed her knowledge for human anatomy, biology, and fine art, taking both undergraduate and graduate level courses. She became the student ambassador for RIT’s undergraduate medical illustration. Amidst graduation, she accepted a role as Scientific Illustrator with Science Magazine in Washington, D.C. Mastin currently resides in Washington, D.C. where she produces medical, scientific, and editorial illustration for Science, Science Advances, Science Immunology, Science Robotics, Science Signaling, and Science Translational Medicine. Throughout her pursuit of medical illustration, Mastin has garnered several awards for her work, both as a student and working professional.
